The Social Media and Content Coordinator will oversee content creation for all marketing avenues, including blog and email content as well as planning, developing and executing posts for Spokane Hardware Supply and Hardware Hut’s social channels. This role will assist with all marketing campaigns, A/B testing, and creation of landing page content while maintaining the company’s brand and aligning with our vision and mission statements. We are looking for a dependable, detail-orientated self-starter with the ability to multitask in a fast paced, team environment. The Social Media and Content Coordinator will report to the Chief Marketing Officer. 

This position is non-exempt.

Duties and Responsibilities

Content Creation and Support:

  • Image optimization for web and print formats.
  • Research industry-related topics and identify industry trends (such as product knowledge meetings, vendor webinars, trade publications) to assist in generating and maintaining website and blog content. 
    • Edit, format, schedule, and publish blog articles via WordPress.
      • Tag products in articles so users are redirected to product detail pages.
    • Continually monitor the blog for any issues and SEO best practices. 
      • Update plugins and test functionality often to ensure user experience is not impacted. 
    • Provide monthly reporting on blog performance to Chief Marketing Officer. Ensure blog traffic and engagement is growing month-over-month and taking place organically, in partnership with Digital Marketing Analyst.
  • Responds to reviews via the website, Facebook, and Google.
  • Writing copy to promote products as needed for marketing campaigns.
  • Work directly with our content/SEO agency to collaborate on content creation.

Social Media Responsibilities:

  • Planning and Coordinating
    • Plan, curate, and schedule posts with team for the Spokane Hardware Supply and The Hardware Hut social accounts:
      • Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest, and Tiktok.
    • Create weekly schedules for both accounts, working in advance to align with new product launches, marketing campaigns and other initiatives.
  • Content Creation and Curation
    • Align with the marketing team to facilitate social-specific assets through collaboration with photos, content creators, and influencers.
    • Develop new ways to showcase Spokane Hardware Supply and The Hardware Hut’s marketing messages through visual mediums and assist with the creation of such assets.
    • Identify on-brand creators and influencers to work with.
    • Engage with our audience by liking, commenting and reposting content from vendors, customers, influencers, associations and industry experts.
    • Build our following across all platforms with vendors, representatives, clients and customers.
  • Deployment and Execution
    • Utilize Hootsuite or Airtable for posting on all social platforms with proper tags and mentions. 
    • Assist with boosted posts for Facebook/Instagram.
  • Reporting and Analytics - partnership with Digital Marketing Analyst
    • Gather and report on social data for weekly and monthly reports.
    • Utilize information in future marketing decisions, allowing data to influence planning.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Product Marketing Manager to advise of discrepancies and issues related to web and product data.
  • Support Product Marketing Manager with product data entry to
    • Detailed product descriptions, specifications, pricing, keyword generation, images, videos, and PDF files.
  • Support with external communications, regional and local publications. 
  • Additional tasks that support the team at the discretion of management.


  • Bachelor’s degree in related field required (Digital/Social Marketing, Marketing or Communications).
  • 3+ years experience in a related field.
  • Previous experience in data entry, content management systems (i.e- WordPress) or other related fields to publish content.
  • Knowledge of web design, desktop publishing and photo editing preferred.
  • Experience in Adobe Creative Suite: InDesign, Photoshop, Acrobat, and Premiere preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft products: Office, Excel and PowerPoint.; as well as Google Docs and Spreadsheets.
  • Excellent writing, grammar, proofreading and strong typing skills.
  • Strong oral and organizational skills.
  • Basic understanding of Google Analytics, Search console and Hootsuite. 


  • Salary: DOE $40,000 - $50,000
  • Benefits Package:
    • 1 week of vacation, 2 weeks of vacation after 1 year of employment. 
    • Paid holidays (New Years Day, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Black Friday and Christmas).
    • PTO in accordance with Washington’s sick leave policy.
