The Chief Financial Officer position is accountable for the financial, and risk management operations of the company. Including the development of a financial and operational strategy, metrics tied to that strategy, and the ongoing development and monitoring of the control systems designed to preserve company assets and report accurate financial results.

 

Will work closely with the management team to develop a deep understanding of our customers, our vendors, and the industries in which we work and how best to use our strengths to grow our business.

 

Main responsibilities to include:

 

Financial Information:

  • Oversee the issuance of financial information, including financial statements, cash flow statements, asset/inventory ROI
  • Review tax filings with respective government agencies
  • Report financial results to the board of directors

 

Risk Management:

  • Understand and mitigate areas where risk/fraud is present both internally and externally review annually with the board of directors
  • Construct and monitor reliable control systems

 

Planning:

  • Assist in formulating the company’s future direction and supporting initiatives (i.e. organizational structure and succession planning and new business development)
  • Manage process and approve annual budgets for all departments and companies
  • Develop, maintain financial and tax strategies
  • Manage capital expenditures/requests and asset procurement
  • Manage annual/monthly budgeting process throughout the entire organization, forecasting revenue by business unit, product line, vendor, and customers
  • Assist with a high-level decision about policy and strategy
  • Work closely with Chief Marketing Officer, IT/Webmaster, Operations Manager in developing strategic plans and developing frameworks for evaluating investment opportunities

 

Operations:

  • Participate in key decisions as a member of the senior management team (CEO, CMO, VP Purchasing, and Operations) and have a deep understanding of the connection between our investments, business performance, and long-term goals 
  • Maintain and keep current contract pricing for all negotiated contracts with customers and vendors, report on those results (i.e. co-op dollars with vendors for marketing, commercial contracts above $75K with customers)
  • Provide guidance and support to the administrative/accounting, AR, and AP teams
  • Oversee the development of financial tracking for growth initiatives and new departments
  • Oversee the company’s transaction processing systems AP, AR, invoice processing via FACTS, TOPDOG, ensure key KPI’s are valid and understood
  • Implementation of best practices to adhere to GAAP & industry standards
  • Oversee employee benefit plan, tracking of benefits, and compliance work with HR Director to achieve the best benefit performance to retain and attract top talent.
  • Assist with due diligence in M&A

 

Qualifications:

  • MBA/CFA preferred, Bachelors Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or business required
  • 10+ years of industry experience, working with senior leadership teams
  • CPA and/or CFO experience welcome to apply
  • Excellent verbal, analytical, organizational, and written skills
  • Advanced Excel/Numbers experience and proficiency, with the ability to analyze complex data
  • Proven track record of achieving personal goals, team goals while prioritizing and streamlining work
  • Demonstrated knowledge of financial statement analysis, income statement, balance sheet, and cash

 

Additional Qualifications:

  • Ability to work remotely when needed, while maintaining oversight of projects in house
